I am really excited and feel new, part of it been over a workshop I attended. Recently, I attended a paid, highly interactive and thought provoking financial education workshop in London, England, tagged ‘Road Map to Financial Empowerment’. This workshop was a comprehensive financial health checkup every forward thinking and ambitious person needs despite his or current financial status. The lessons, shockers, revelations and take-away were simply amazing, and sometimes heart-breaking.

Without a doubt, getting rich is not all about hard work or having multiple streams of income, good as they are. In fact you can make so much money and still be broke and beaten. Of a truth the rich also cry. It’s so shocking to note that making money is also a skill; it is a combination of science, art, common sense, discipline and intuition. And you can learn it. It is not exclusive.

For instance, are you aware that your belief about money, right or wrong, greatly impacts your financial wellbeing? Do you know that your attitude to money can be a major hindrance in your quest for financial freedom? Money respects those who respect it, and shows no regards if you too don’t. Are you aware that financial freedom begins in the mind? The mind is one of your richest assets. So how can you improve the capabilities of your mind?

Are you aware that if your quest for money aligns with the purpose of money, chances are that you will have it. A lot of practical step by step guide was thought at that workshop, a lot of take-away. Talking about your financial health, do you know that until you know where you are at financially, it will be near impossible for anyone to help you? The problem therefore is actually not about more money or more opportunities, it has never been. Any wonder that people win the lottery and still end up broke. I respectfully ask you, where are you financially? I’m not just asking about the balance in your bank account, it is far beyond that. What financial controls do you have in place? Are you in charge? Are you plugging all the leakages, you cannot be financially free if you don’t. Are you aware that to be financially free, no matter how much you earn, you need to spend less than 60% of your income, at least 40% are to be saved or invested. Tough but true.

When last did you review your expenses list, to differentiate between essential and non-essential expenses? Are you cuddling your debts or dealing with them? I can go on and on.

To be financially independent requires some hard dedicated work and guidance, but importantly, it’s possible. Many are on the road already and succeeding. You too can. It is never too late. Just forget the past, plan the future, the future you can direct.
