THIS is not a hoax! Angels are missing
on earth. Your urgent help to get them is needed today!

Recently, I traveled by
road from Lagos to Abuja in Nigeria. By Ibilo junction, a popular joint known
for its local delicacy of fried yam and bush (roast) meat, our bus driver
pulled over for passengers to eat and stretch out. I couldn’t wait to sink my
teeth in those sumptuous yams, with a cold drink. For environmental reasons, I
am not a bush meat fan.
As is expected the street traders flocked us with their
goods including fresh fruits, bottle water, bush meat and of course the fried
yam. I had previously bought a big bottle of water which I finished drinking
when I alighted the vehicle. As I disposed of the empty water bottle, one woman
selling by the roadside quickly picked up the empty water bottle. You could see
the excitement and joy at picking up the plastic container. I could see that
empty container meant a lot to her. Almost immediately, another woman walked up
to the woman who picked up the empty container I discarded and begged her for
the container. Expectedly the woman hesitated to release her ‘prized
possession’. Who would blame her? The second woman persisted in getting the
empty container.
I just stood aside and watched the whole happening unfold.
Without grudge, frowns or complains, the woman who picked up the empty water
container gave the second woman the container. I was intrigued, and decided to
walk up to her to ask why she would freely let go what is rightfully hers. The
woman simply told me that the other woman said she needed the container, and
she released it, hoping that another opportunity to get another container may
come. I was shocked, impressed and proud, all at the same time. Without
hesitation, I dipped my hand into my pocket and fetched a crisp five hundred
naira note (about 3 US Dollars) and gave to her. She almost passed out. She got
over five times reward for her kindness. It was unexpected. Everyone around her
cheered her. I was happy, she was happy.

How many times have we seen
someone do a selfless act, and just allow it to pass? I am not particularly
suggesting that every act of kindness or selflessness be rewarded or else it
loses its essence, but how many times have we tried to encourage people that
kindness or selflessness pays? We can be an angel in this regard. Determine
today that you will acknowledge or appreciate acts of kindness you encounter.
You might not be a direct beneficiary of such kindness, but please, where and
when you can, appreciate it. Why, you may ask?
Have you noticed that it would
seem that in today’s world, evil and selfishness seem to be winning? Many
people see no reason to show the greater good – kindness. Acknowledging and
appreciating someone’s kindness encourages such a person, and is a bold
statement that the world still holds a future for mankind. This thought is the
basic philosophy behind awards.
Being an angel is SMART - Simple
and Specific, Measurable, surely Attainable, very Relevant and is Time-bound,
something you can start today, now indeed.
You can measure your act,
as seen in the story I shared. It’s all within our capacity and reach to
acknowledge and appreciate others who have been kind to others. Like I would
always say, anything good worth doing, just do it now. Tomorrow does not exist.
In your success
